Speaker’s Bureau

The CAWS Speaker’s Bureau provides a network of business professionals and community members who volunteer their time to speak with students on a variety of topics pertaining to careers. General topics include career planning, interview and career skills, available education and job training, and information about careers in specific industries. In addition to schools, the speakers from the bureau are also available for civic organizations, clubs and other community groups.

High School Career Fairs

The Career Awareness Fairs allow students to network with representatives from local industries and learn about the various careers opportunities in the Cullman area, including co-op and internship opportunities. During the event, every student is given a Career Resource Guide. The Career Awareness Fairs are organized by the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce’s Education Committee and Existing Business and Industry Committee and is attended by area 10th grade students. Continuing Education

Wallace State Community College offers continuing education online courses created specifically for educators. The online courses are six-weeks in length and are available in a broad range of topics.

- Partnership for 21st Century Skills
The Partnership for 21st Century Skills website is a vast source of publications, online tools and other resources to help educators integrate 21st century skills into the classroom. The website includes white papers and presentations from other educators across the nation.
- Dream It Do It
The Dream It Do It website matches students with careers through entertaining surveys and online tools. The website includes many helpful resources, as well as a section dedicated to educators.
- Career Voyages
The Career Voyages website gives students insight into career fields and identifies in-demand careers. The website includes many resources available to educators to assist them with teaching students about available careers.
